Learning to manage your money is really simple. Creating a plan (budget), and stick to it. In this example, you decide to go to the grocery store to shop. You make a list before hand of the items that you will NEED through the course of the week. When you get to the store, if it is not on the shopping list, it is not purchased. Pretty easy!
Likewise, the idiots in Congress (both Senate and House) think that they can add stuff to the shopping list while at the grocery store with out any thought that it will not fit within the plan (Constitution).
You see, the Constitution of the United States was created with specific rights given to the people and specific powers given to the federal government. It goes further to state that “the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”
In other words, the Federal Government has absolutely no authority to create universal health care (and many of the other social programs such as social security, welfare, department of education, and others that they have done in the past) since there is NOTHING in the Constitution giving them this power.
In addition there is NOTHING in the Constitution granting a specific right of health care for the people. It is not a “right” to have medical coverage, it is a “privilege.” Just like driving your car on the highway is not a “right,” but rather a “privilege” granted by your state that can be revoked at any time.
It is time to elect congressional leaders that actually understand and support the Constitution of the United States. Any congressional leader that does not understand the Constitution should be immediately removed from office. It is up to we, the people, to vote into place congressional leaders that will support and abide by the Constitution. Let’s make it happen in 2010 elections!
